I like Jack Russells and Fox Terriers. I had a Jack Russell staying with me for 2 or 3 weeks on the farm, my nephews, when they were on holiday. Aggressive little buggers, used to tell my soft hearted GSP where to get off all the time, but they had great fun too chasing each other around. I used to have a mongrel, part fox terrier and part corgi (unfortunate the second 'breed'). He was a brave little mut and would crawl down fox holes after foxes, hang on swinging cows and bulls tails for fun (until they swung their tails into a post - thud), plus was great to help in shooting foxes. Mostly untrained but he would sniff them out or sight them in the vine rows so I could shoot them, and at least once go and play with them so I could shoot it. Hares too. Good ideas. Any other breeds? (I will pull out some dog books and have a look through and bring some up. At this stage I am only planning, as I wouldn't get a puppy to well after vintage.) |
