Don't know how a retriever and pointer would work out. The Labs and Springers are flushing dogs, and would flush any bird a pointer found - or flush (25 to 30yards in front of the hunters) they before the pointer could find a bird.

Or perhaps, the pointer, if ranging further out in front, might cause the retriever to roam too far out and flush the birds out of range of the hunters.

A pair of retiever/flushers working together is a wonderful hunt.

Now, a pair of Britany pointer/retrievers would be fun. Dogs are SO much better at finding dead birds in the brush than I am.
