I cannot imagine a better way of shooting rabbits, than with a quartering Springer Spaniel in front of you, dropping to the flush, and waiting to be sent for the retrieve if and when you shoot one.
Any of you gents seen a Spaniel trial ? I have tapes of the British Championships. It is an eye opener to the uninitiated.
