Crawfish, crayfish, crawdads, same deal as far as I know. (AFAIK)
Here & in Ontario where I used them for bass bait, crayfish or crawfish are miniature lobsters and live in fresh water. They can pinch pretty hard, but not "take" off a digit.(not to be confused with a diggerydoo)

What I have trouble with, is telling the difference between the crayfish/crawfish and the lobsters in AUSTRALIA. The "ones" "over there in down under" look the same to me.

Fran is starting to call him Jack, I noticed.

Last May/June, I ate quite a few NORMAL lobsters in Newfoundland. The 1 pounders are best, sweetest in flavour. Boiled, cracked and delivered to our cottage, $7.00 each. May/June, is lobster season on our East coast.
