Hello Folks, Last week I took my boat down the Intracoastal Waterway via the Chesapeake and Albemarle Canal. My friend and I crossed the Albemarle Sound, then the Pamlico Sound, and went to Cape Hatteras. Here’s the boat in the Great Bridge Lock. ![]() Once in Hatteras I picked up two friends and we went fishing. We caught a BUNCH of mahi mahi (Hawaiian for “very strong”), a few skipjack tuna, and hooked and jumped a white marlin and a sailfish. We didn’t land the billfish. Here’s a couple of shots of my friends with a few of the fish. Bob, the older tall gentleman, is the fellow who traveled down and back with me. Paul, the tall young fellow is a classmate of mine, and Greg (with the beard) works with Paul. Here’s one of the mahi mahi. ![]() This is the same fish coming aboard. ![]() A skippy (skipjack tuna, “chicken of the sea”) ![]() It was my first time in the Gulfstream in my own boat. We had a great trip, and I’m eager to do it again. |
