Brookies

So fall here in the North is the time for brook trout to spawn. I have a small stream which runs past the front of my house that holds native brook trout and rainbows. My brookies were well fed this summer on pond fish kibble. I can safely say I have the largest trout along the length of the stream. Yeah, I have bragging rights, big time.

I saw today they are in spawning colors and are 'huge' for stream fish. I am thinking of pulling one or two out for supper. They will be easy to catch, will that be fair?
