Best fish cakes I've ever eaten, were made by an old lady at a resort in Northern Ontario - pike as well. recipe? - can't help. No bones, either. They can be fileted into 4 pieces with no bones, but there is a lot of waste. Nothing worse than a Y bone caught in your throat. They're easy enough to catch, no problem wasting a bit of meat. Canned, as local friends of mine do with the [ike they catch up north, you can eat the smaller bones, no problem. Pickeral - now that's an 'eatin' fish, better than anything with red meat - except well properly prepared Sockeye. |
