The good wife and I had a splash of success last weekend at a couple of our favourite spots: Shady Camp on Good Friday and up the Finniss River on Easter Monday. The best barra on Friday were all taken on Gold Bombers. They were 80cm and 75cm for me, and a 75cm fish for the missus: On the Monday, the top fish was a metre on a Reidy's electric-blue frog-pattern Taipan, next best at 82cm took a white Taipan with red head. There's a bit of a story to these two fish, might write it up for the web-page soon. Wife's best fish was 85cm, taken in the gutter out the front but still fairly fresh at the time from the wet-season runoff. It inhaled a Classic Barra +3 in 'Guns and Roses' pattern: Fishing the 'runoff' at this time of year is always the most productive for big barramundi. Wish every fishing trip could be as successful! I've been a bit busy lately, will get back to regular posting on NE soon I hope! Cheers all. |
