Took Wednesday off to try for a few big barra at the Chambers Bay creek-mouths. Nothin' doin' at Sampan, so across to Tommycut where the action was. Couldn't catch a barra for love nor money, those damn threadies kept grabbing the lures! Them and the millions of hungry steel-back salmon crowding the creek-mouths! I must admit though, if you can't catch barra then threadfin are the next best thing. Some of my mates actually prefer them to barramundi as table fare. All good fun, whatever the species! Here's a couple of fine examples of the North Australian Threadfin Salmon bagged 2 days ago: |
