Hello: This is my first attempt to send photos to a forum.... I expect you an see them This is a Auguste Francotte in 450 BPE. I think it was made in 1924, more or less. The rifle is very light, 6 1/2 pounds. It was out of face when I got it, and has been fixed and cleaned. The case is original, but only the wood and leather. The rubber pad is also new (the original was changed by the previous owner. I beg your pardon for the unburnt powder you can see in the barrel rifling, the loads the previous owner were very low and simply the powder did not burn. I reload it, and with Hornady 350 and 300 grain bullets, 71 grains of Tubal 5000 and a 25 mm wad (green foam) shoots quite well, 2-3" at 50 yards. I hunt with it, and is fantastic for our Spanish driven hunts (boar and stag). http://picasaweb.google.es/amolins/Francotte450BPE |
