Nice rifle, but I must concur on the engraving. I am fortunate enough to own one Purdey, a 303 DR built in 1900 with the snap action underlever. A wonderful gun in near mint condition and with the very traditional (of course) Purdey style engraving. To me, that is what a Purdey double is about. I have a friend who is ordering a Grulla E95 in 9.3X74R. When asked for his choice of Purdey, Boss or H&H style engraving (which they will execute quite well) he chose Purdey. Why pay the money for such a lovely gun, and then eschew one of the best attributes of this excellent maker? Oh well, one man's taste, another's distate. Still, one very, very nice rifle. Dave |
