Droplock, I oggled over that rifle for quite some time at the Vintagers in September and at Las Vegas in February. It's a fantastic piece of work, and a real beauty. I'm skeptical of it being "new and unfired." It's my understanding it was built for a gent in Texas and went on one safari. He then decided to part with it, for whatever reason. I do not believe Griffin & Howe had anything to do with its inception. I never understood why they have it listed as a new gun. It's stamped by a Texan importer. Be that as it may, I think it's a fabulous rifle. I was told by the principal of Dickson & MacNaughton that its original cost was 60,000 pounds sterling. If I could swing it, it would make a nice addition to my collection. That's for sure. Best regards, Curl |
