The "White Hunter" was Definately a post-war model .

Clark - yes, I think the "White Hunter" was just a name
for this model of gun - I have seen it in 500, 577 and I think 470.

As to basic working gun, I'm not too sure - particularly
this one as it has all the features. I have seen plainer ones
but I've also seen quite a few highly engraved ones with
full engraving like this,

In regards to who made it, I believe post war WR made the DR's
and that WR had all of their shotguns made in house but by someone else
This finished early 1970's when the people / company
went out under their own name. This came from the people who made
the Shotguns !!!
