500Boswell, I don't know for certain, but based on what I have read from period sources, I would say that rifles in the black powder era probably weren't any more difficult than Nitro Express rifles to regulate. I'm sure that if we had all of the same components available to us that were used originally to regulate these rifles, we would be more successful at making black powder ammunition that shoots properly. My experiences, however, haven’t been so good in that respect. Shooting ability also enters into the equation and I question my ability often! Regards, Jim |
