i have to correct myself. its not a clawmount ist a socalled "aufschubmontage" / railmount.
i fully agree that a scope like this is not for the original purpose
a double rifle is built for - same with the choosen calibre - which is also not the calibre someone
would choose for a double rifle. this gun was composed as it is for longer range red deer hunting.
the calibre was one of the favourite calibres of the prewar owner whose favourite scope was the zeiss
zielacht (8x).
