Good things are said to come in small packages and this is one of them. Built in 1875, it somehow dodged all the want-a-be gunsmiths and got to 2012 untouched. Barrels are Henry rifled and 27" long and bores are next to perfect. It is perfectly regulated and this was accomplished without the use of a wedge at the muzzles. The chaps that built these little doubles were really, really, good. You get a bit of an idea of how small this rifle is when you look at the two 360-2 1/4" round and the 450-3 1/4" together. It has London proof marks and has nothing to relate to its cal./ gauge. A chamber cast showed it is a 360- 2 1/4" with a groove dia. of approx. .366". enjoy, Ron. |
