It was built in 1901 based on the serial # and is a 55gr cordite gun. It has 24" barrels with Baker ejectors. The bores are in great condition and it will soon be restocked to lengthen the pull and get it back to it's original style. I'm trying to learn if it had a cheekpiece when built, based on what I have found out so far, I don't think it did. I find the engraving extremely attractive. It has had a scope mount put on it which I have resisted doing on my vintage British guns but it was done very well and it shoots great. I can't argue with the benefits of having a gun scoped. Thanks for the kind words. |
