Judging from the photos the hammers appear to be rebounding. The weight is fairly heavy but not unusual for a .303. I like mine lighter also.

My observations:

Probably a new butt stock. Otherwise why is there a sling eye on the barrels but none on the butt? Nice looking job though.

Barrels probably re-blacked. Obvious carry wear on the under side of the action with no corresponding marks on the barrels. Trigger guard looks to be re-blacked also.

Case colors may be original.

Dunno whether it would have had flat top checkering originally. The Birmingham guns are seen with sharp checkering.

It looks like it might be a pretty good .303. But again, I know no more than what the photos show. If I didn't have two already I would be on the phone.
