Description: R.B.Rodda Hammer Double Rifle .303 British. This beautiful African plains game double rifle has color cased sidelocks with external hammers. The wood is Fancy to extra Fancy, with fine checkering on the capped pistol grip and the splinter fore end. The borders of the sidelocks and the fore end latch are engraved. Both locks have gold bars inlaid and engraved with the makers name. The color cased action and trigger plate have engraved borders. The breech is lightly sculpted and engraved. This gun has a Greener cross bolt. The action on this extractor gun is tight and the bores are bright with good rifling. The monogram plate is inscribed with a crest and motto. The express sight has a fixed blade marked for 100 yards, and two folding leafs marked for 200 yards and 300 yards, all with white center lines. The rib is cross grooved. The barrel has a sling swivel base installed, but none has ever been installed into the buttstock. The stock has tear drops behind the locks. This gun has been proofed for a maximum load of 38 grains of Riflelite powder.
