Noticed the grip radius too. Were the English making some doubles with the tighter radius grip more frequently in the late 30's than they did prior? I have seen some other "late" English guns with hints of American styling in the grip and the comb such as this Webley.
Perhaps it was ordered with these dimensions specifically(?)
