Hi Been lurking on the forum for a while, but had nothing substantial to post. Now I do! By chance, I have come into position of a nice double, a Westley Richards .280 Nitro Express Flanged. As you can see from the pictures, it is in very good condition, the barrels are completely clean (from what I can tell without more than my eye). First: I’m interested to find out more about this rifle’s history; when was it made, etc? Second: .280 Nitro Express Flanged seems to be a very obscure caliber, does anyone have experience with it? If so, what? Third: I have posted a separate post in the reloading section (http://forums.nitroexpress.com/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=146311&an=0&page=0#Post146311) about getting information on how I could “resurrect” this wonderful little rifle, but any info coming here would be appreciated as well. Fourth: I intend to use this little beauty for a variety of game, from whitetail in the US to possibly some smaller driven boar in France, any opinions? Any and all comments are welcome and appreciated! The gun in its case (which is obviously not original / was probably lost somewhere along the line) The complete rifle... sweet! Shot of the action Info on the barrels, help with decoding would be greatly appreciated!
