Yes I remember reading the thread about the building of your rifle now. I have a British Edwinson Green and Sons 450 No2. He either got the action and barrels from WJ Jeffery or had Jeffery's maker build the gun for him. Edwinson Green was mainly a shotgun maker, but I have seen other double rifles with his name on them. My rifle has 28" bbbls. The 450 No2 is a great calibre, one of the best Nitro calibres IMHO. I have killed several deer and pigs with 350gr Hornaday RN bullets over 81gr of IMR 3031, with filler, either dacron or foam. When in Africa I use 480 Woodleigh Softs and Solids, and 500gr Swift A Frames over 88gr of RL-15, and 450gr North Fork Flat Point and Cup Point Solids over 89 gr of RL 15, all loads with filler of course. |
