Purdey doubles

A somewhat desperate attempt to compete with CaptainCurl:

Top to bottom:
- 1889 vintage 450BPE 'B' Quality rebarelled and modified to ejectors by Dan'l Fraser. The new caliber is 9.3x74R and is not a rechambered 400/360NE.
This gun was built by Samuel B Allport and finished by Purdey, before Fraser modified it.
Quite a Pedigree!
- 1890 vintage .450/.400 2 7/8" BPE 'C' quality BLNE.
- 1891 vintage .450/.400 2 7/8" BPE hammer island locks "Best" quality
- 1895 vintage .500 3" BPE hammer island locks "Best" quality
- 1906 vintage .303Br sidelock ejector Beesley patent "Best" quality

Bottoms up

action tops

Enjoy!

Re: Purdey doubles

Lovely rifles! I'm envious. You have outdone me by far.

Do you have the scope for your 9.3x74R?

Thanks,
Curl

Re: Purdey doubles

Very nice collection. Lots of older BPE's too.

Now we can be envious of Curl AND you.

Re: Purdey doubles

I think all you guys should be rationed to no more than two, to give the rest of us a chance.

Or is that socialism ....

Nope, just trying...
I do have a Leupold scope that came with it. Not original of course.
The funny part is that somebody tried to erase the Fraser mark on the oldest one and had "James Purdey" re-engraved on the rib.
As if Fraser was a bad thing...

Thank you guys. I feel ludicrously lucky.
