Generalwar, Just when I start wondering what you've been up to, you unleash this on us! Damn, I need to step it up... Stunner! |

I know very little if anything about double rifles. What is the purpose of the second smaller lever between the safety and top lever ? |
||||||||

Looks like Fun! I like the brush game scene on the action belly. Nice details on the muzzles and ribs too. What does this one weigh? Cheers Tinker |

Absolutely beautiful weapon!! Amazing workmanship. Looks like it's brand new. I'm speechless |

If only it could tell us it's life story, it's history, the wondrous hunts it has been on and the close calls it may have encountered..... A magnificent Double Rifle. |

A very nice Westley and a great Westley cartridge. The Maharaja's certainly ordered one or two. Were the rifle photos taken in SoCal? |

That is certainly a most unusual but beautiful Double Rifle. My hats off to you. |

Gentlemen, Thank you for your kind comments. Trophit1: That is called a stalking safety it keeps the gun in the safe position. Tinker: Weight is 9lbs 10ozs. Gatsby: The photos were taken at our home in the Hamptons (East Coast). Oz: By unusual I assume you mean hardly seen in this calibre, if so you are correct. I have encountered very few over the years especially in this condition and grade. |

GW, Its just the plant pallet/crushed rock type and use of the dpj emitter suggested a somewhat arid climate with few days below 17 degrees. Areas perhaps in the southwest but I guess not. I do this all the time when at the theatre. Drives my family crazy. |

Nice and light! That thing should handle like a charm. Do you have a full history on the rifle? Do you know who's been doing the refinish work on it? It looks really nice and the work has a great look of continuity. The gold critter on the trigger guard is a little distracting, but as part of the package it's kind of cool. How does it shoot? Cheers Tinker |

I've been looking at these drop-locks for a couple of weeks. One thing I have wondered is how the hinge pin is afixed. Any chance of getting a picture of the action knuckle? |

generalwar, Wow! Beautiful rifle. With the exception of the trigger guard screw closet to the serial number the gun looks new. Restored/Original? Nice find. Buchseman |

Gatsby: I took these pictures by the pump house, not much going on at that part of the property but care free landscape. Tinker: I do not have a full history of the rifle other than what is posted. The Maharaja died a few years after taking delivery from the other research I have. Bailey: I would post a pic for you but Im afraid you may copy my rifle. |

Well good grief, it wouldn't be your's exactly..... |

Lord, what a fine rifle! Thanks for sharing this grand piece of history. Congratulations. Curl |

Quote: Your quite the character When are you going to build a sidelever Fraser? Surprised you picked a Farky over that design. |
||||||||
|
|
|||||||
I might make a sidlever version of my action. Maybe a little "Frasier Flavor" with it. So....should I send you my camera...... |

NOTE: At this point in the thread GeneralWar posted a fantastic photo array of an extraordinary Fraser single shot .303 British. Comments had begun in regard to the Fraser, all of which was off-topic to this fine WR .425. The Fraser deserves the full dignity of its own thread, so I moved it to the Single Shot Forum here: Fraser Single Shot .303 British GenWar, thanks again for posting such a fine specimen. Curl |

Quote: Thank you Curl your very kind. Bailey Bradshaw had asked me for detailed photographs of a Fraser for prototyping so I obliged his request. Cheers. |
