Mike The differences are indeed noticeable, the woodleigh bullet profiles follow the traditional round nosed style whereas the TBB have invariably the Sledgehammer soild (naval bronze construction /(brass colour) usually with a wide flat meplat impressed with a letter "T" the soft nosed bear claws do however closely resemble the woodleigh softs to a degree save they usually have asmaller amount of lead exposed and also they exhibit a small shoulder on the shank where the ogive begins or at least they do on the .458 bore size, also from memory the Federal cartons usually identify the make and bullet style used in that loading. As a fact find you could log onto both woddleighs website and Speer who own the name Trophy bonded and look at the pictured bullets, this should help give you a workging guide to bullet styles and makes. Also from experience with chaps here with .470 doubles, those regulated with the Woodleighs do not always shoot well or to the same point of impact when used with Trophy bonded bullets, each rifle is of course different and as ever it is always worth trying, but as a general rule, if the rifle has been regulated with a particular load you are usually best advised to stick with it. hope this helps |
