A lot of Engish DG rifles had shorter lengths of pull
than what WE "now" consider normal or like.

Remember, people were smaller, shorter and lighter
in those days than they are now.

I do agree that whoever extended it did not pick the best
way to do it BUT I think the photos extenuate the pad
so the person could have done a better job of photography.

Anyway, the pad will darken up quite quickly.
