I read in NE or somewhere else respectable that db rifles should have shorter length of pull than shotguns. If so, 14 inches might be OK for someone of average height (cf 13 5/8" commonly seen in bolt actions). The shorter pull would also put the balance point of such a heavy rifle closer to the shooter, making feel lighter.
