Re: Recoil pad replacement

Quote:

I use the Silver's under leather, but some want a softer pad. A hunting partner has a decel under leather on a .465 that looks good and works well. I wouldn't cut the stock. If it fits you, leave it alone.

Limbsaver make a 5/8th" Recoil Pad
which will be available Feb which
looks to be about the same thickness
as the one you have on it.

That way you could leave the existing spacer ?

400 and 500,

I do want to increase the length of pull, so a spacer will be necessary.

The guy who does this states that if the decel pad is used, the holes from the Silvers pad wont line up with the original holes. He said that if we go with the Decel pad, he would fill the old holes with dowling and then put in the new screws. Should I be concerned about the stock cracking when he does this? He said this wouldn't happen.

Do we all agree that whatever pad I decide on the value of the gun won't be affected?

Armbar.

BTW... Thanks for all the responses, greatly appreciated.
