Easy to spot the sellers that don't know anything about what they're selling. "Made about 1954." Obviously not. That type of proof mark didn't appear until 1955. This one is clearly from 1956, which means that it probably wasn't delivered until '57 or later. Not a big deal I suppose, and I realize that many that own double rifles don't know much about them, but considering what they cost, you'd think someone trying to sell one would at least try to get the obvious details right. Obviously historical data easily available from Westley hasn't been obtained by the seller. What if it turned out to have been sold to a famous PH or other famous person? Might not bring more money, but it could sure make it easier to sell.
