Mehul, My biggest problem with the Pedersoli Howdah is the caliber. Why would they call such a small-bore gun a howdah? The experience of shooting a howdah is of firing a ball that reminds one of a golf ball :-). I believe Ross Siefried wrote an article on shooting a couple of howdahs once. To be fair, I believe it was Hamilton Bowen who built a howdah revolver! It was only .51 - .52 caliber, though he had to get permission from BATFE to build it, and could not offer it for sale. In a modern cartridge, it was considerably more powerful than a black-powder, patched-ball gun of similar caliber, though. If I recall correctly, it was built on a Ruger Redhawk. Take care, Tom |
