They aren't that bad, I have 2 of them, a White Hunter in 500 and a 465 Boxlock.
Yes, they are sometimes valued under pre war guns but it all comes down to the particular gun.
People seem to pass them up based on rumour and other peoples say so without actually looking themselves
500, You may be right,I would not buy a Chapuis or Heym either. The auction is not aimed at me as a buyer.
