This is the key. Clearly it is mind over matter, at least up to a point - which I think is much higher than most are willing to try or even acknowledge.

You can learn to "ignore" recoil by building up from light to heavy recoil over time. Start with not too many lighter recoiling rounds and finish with a few heavier. Next session add a few more heavier... Not too long - about a month of twice a week shooting for me at 458wm and 10lbs recoil levels - and the recoil is just second nature and not even consciously thought about. I believe that the next step up in recoil would be no different, just a bit more time.
