According to the information I get from the Blaser web site, the rifle is only made with the primary calibers arranged diagonally, one at the top and one at the lower side, instead of the primary calibers side by side and the secondary caliber on top. Why this should be escapes me.

This is so! A friend who posts here has one the these, but is 9.3X74R-9.3X74R, and 20 ga shot barrel. The rifle barrels are indeed mounted diagonally, and looks weard as heck, but they shoot well!

The Blaser uses a locking system invented by Paul Jaeger which removes all the stress from the action itself and can accomodate anything a bolt action can accomodate. I believe Merkel offers something similar.

The locking system of the Blazer is also used on the break-top single shots sold by Merkel, but the double rifles are Anson&Deeley actions with a greener cross bolt!
