I have been using a Chapuis in 9,3x74R for several years, including 3 Safaris to Zimbabwe. It has proven to be a superb hunting rifle. I have over 3000 [three thousand] rounds through it.

The Merkels are nice guns as well. I would handle both and get the one that fits you the best.

The 9,3x74R is a most excellent hunting calibre.
