I like the setup of the sights on the Martin-Enfield. I have just purchased one on internet.
I t is nice outside, action wise and wood is good except the carbine has been "arsenal refinished".
Most markings OK on metal, but the stock is well sanded.
This must have been converted to a parade / drill rifle. I too would like to replace the barrel for another .303. The on on the gun is baaad!! You say you installed an SMLE no1 mk III barrel?
What had to be done to fit it to the receiver? Are the treads alike or need to be redone?
I am replacing the firing pin, and want to have a good shooter -hunter.
