IMHO, Having used leather rifle slings, ammo belts
and ammo carriers (slide onto belts),
in hot, 35- 40 degree weather when you sweat
non stop all day. the leather tunrs to shit.

You spend that long trying to rectify it when
you get home, it's easier to use some Nylon stuff.

One Ammo Belt I had went rock hard, regardless of
how much leather dressing I put on it.

1 Weeks worth of sweat and Salt in 35+ degrees
ruined it.
