Re: 9.3x74 Velocity

Out of my Brno o/u with 24 inch bbls I get:

Factory Norma 286 gr 2380 ft/s

286 Nosler with RL15 2360 (better is the 2330 area)

270 Speer with RL 15 2440 (better is the 2400 area)

250 Nosler BT with RL 15 2550

No pressure signs -- I have ejectors , so I dont know about the "falling out" - but the shells appear very normal and I mic the base and it shows no untoward expansion.

My rifle appears to like the 250 gr speed for upper and lower bbl combined grouping (about 2 inch at 100 yds) but each bbl loves (each bbl 3 holes touching) the 286 gr at 2250-2350 (but they separate about 4 inch vertical at 100yds)

FARSHOT, The 286 gr load @ 2250-2350 FPS, shooting 4" apart at 100 yds? Which is the way they seperate top barrel shooting on top, or top barrel shooting on the bottom?

If each barrel is shooting groups of three all touching, but the barrels shooting 4" apart with the bottom barrel shooting on top, and the top barrel shooting on the bottom, the rifle is crossing. The cure for is to slow the load down some, till the bottom barrel shoots closely under the top barrel. Your barrel time is too short.

If however, the top barrel is shooting on top, and the bottom barrel is shooting on the bottom, and the groups are 4" apart, the load is too slow, and needs speeding up, till they shoot top on top, bottom on bottom, but close enough to make a good composite group @ 100yds.

Don't worry about getting the advertized velocities, in your barrels, anything between 2150-2350 fps will do the trick, as long as your loads shoot to the regulation of your rifle!
