Yeah, I hear that from a lot of folks. I even hear guys say they've never even heard of a rimless chambered double failing to extract. I can't help it, but I find that amazing. My experience with rimless chambered doubles is the same as Charlie Haley's. I don't know if Westley Richards invented the extraction system for rimless DRs, but they were certainly the first to promote rimless DRs in a big way, and were famous for it. They made a large number, and Westley rimless doubles had a reputation for reliability. I have yet to shoot a rimless chambered Westley that I didn't have a failure to extract with. The last was a mint "best" droplock .318 that I fired with original Kynoch ammo. Just incredibly unlucky I guess. |
