The 141 is built on a 28ga 'chassis' with most other 'small' doubles sized like a 20ga. I have and enjoy a scoped 141 in 30-06. Next to my 160 (sidelock, ex-IWA gun) in 7,65R, the 141 looks and feels like it shrank in the wash. Shots great and carrys well. Price is not unreasonable and workmanship, like all of the Merkels I have owned or seen, is first rate. Dave
