I see that in OZ, the Merkels come with the scope bases installed. I find scopes to be fairly useful on these DRs. I have a 141 in a 30-06 with a Zeiss that, for a DR, is a 'tack driver.' Not going to retire any of my benchrest rifles in its favor, but at my advanced age, quite an improvement over iron sights. Dave
