I remember hearing that about 2% of hunters bring doubles into Africa based on records of guns and ammo brought in. I don't know if it is true or not. Makes sense since I'm sure the vast majority of hunts are plains game hunts and lots of guys use a .375 H&H on Buff. Elephant makes the most sense for the big bores and I'm sure that Elephant hunters are a tiny fraction of total hunts.
