bp to nitro reproofs

Hello all.

I noticed that many are selling re-proofed bp guns in nitro calibers.

Now, what are the opinions amongst you here on this matter?

Apart from traditionalism, and anything to do with devaluing a gun, what of the safety and viability?

Suppose you had a 450 bpe and wanted to reproof it, even as would be the temptation to me, due to the event of pitting in the chambers or even barrels, what of the idea of sleeving the gun to accept the 450-400 nitro and re-proofing it? ream the barrel and sleeve to fit, wouldnt this leave more metal strength and thickness due to the decrease in bullet diameter and henceforth barrel bore diameter?

Does anyone have any idea of the psi pressure of the 450 bpe as opposed to the 450-400 nitro, or even the .400 h&h mag round?

And, is it only wise to re-proof Jones underlever guns due to the action strength?

Many thanks

Ben
