How far are you comfortable shooting without a scope? Vaughan seemed to think that most of the buff they took were at scope distances when I talked to him at the Dallas show. The risk you run in using a double is that your best or only shot will be farther than you are comfortable shooting without a scope. Many people are prepared to go home without a buff if they cannot get close enough, but not everyone is.
