If all the .410 and larger NE cartridges were being developed today for the first time, based ONLY on physics and TODAY'S components like the "low pressure" North Fork/ G S Custom bullets, NOT based on any old traditions or the like, what rim THICKNESS would be used, what LENGTH case would be used, [of course we DON'T want to have the need for fillers] staying with the desire for low pressure to benefit our "break open" rifles and 2150 FPS bullet velocity? I'm not asking for rim and base DIAMETERS as they'd change somewhat with bullet DIAMETERS. My GUESS is .060 inch rim thickness ala the relatively new 500/416 and 3 inch length. What do the computers say after all the math? |
