Having recently returned from the range where I fired for the first time my newly purchased Merkel 140-2 DR in .470 NE, I've quickly come to realize that the existing 1/4" plastic butt plate is no friend of my shoulder. I've looked in vain for a proper-looking recoil (or is that 'decelerator?') pad: Brick red rubber, with black spacer, on the order of an inch deep. This would actually improve the LOP in my case. A nice model I found was made by London Guns out of California; regretably, they are out of business and everyone seems sold out of the large size I would require. I want something that will both lesson recoil and have that classic 'English' look. Does anyone have a line on where I might look? Thanks in advance! Kim |
