For serious hunting of critters who take great exception to being shot, Woodleighs are the very best in my experience. Another good solid is the Hornady copper plated steel jacket. It has plenty of give for double rifles and holds shape well. Too bad they don't offer it in more bores...9,3, 408, etc. I watched a client shoot a very nice White Bearded Wildebeest at 150 yards with a 9,3x64 and Barnes 250 gr XFB, and watched in disbelief as his somewhat high, but not too badly placed shot, exited out the top of the animal. Maybe this proves the Kennedy assasination theory about the one bullet traveling up, down, right, then left...with no deformation. Barnes bullets will never run down the bore of anything I am shooting! |
