Hey, Y'all, Just a newbie-type question, I guess, but why did most of the English and Continental builders of fine double rifles always put so damn much drop in the stock? After 40+ years of trapshooting I'm a firm believer in the theory that the straighter the stock, the less damage to one's face, and usually with no perceived increase in recoil. Both these beauties look like they would immediately relocate your right eye to approximately the center of your BALD SPOT!!! Right or Wrong? Please be gentle, as I am a double-gun virgin.
