I hope the "real" answer comes forth in this discussion because I'm trying to talk myself into a medium bore double for elk/moose/kudu/eland/PG game. Here is my problem: my QD/scope mounted bolt action 375 H&H regularly puts 3 shots into 4-6" @ 300 yards. If a medium double, ideally a SxS, will/would do that, then my checking account is going to take a hit!!

I think/believe that long range shots (250+) are more common in USA than Africa. Still it would be very satisfying to hunt Africa with both a big bore and a medium bore double. Medium would need to have QD scope.
