Hi hoppdoc I think any conventional double is not the right weapon for long range work, but if You look at the Blaser S2 You have to admit that from a technical point of view, it is superior to the "old" generation of classic design. The ingenious action easily takes the pressure of modern magnums and the free floating barrels shoot to the same point of impact all the time, cold or hot, so if You would have to take a second shot at 300 yards, it could be done, no matter how many seconds after the first. And Blaser rifles have a very good reputation here in Germany concerning accuracy. Imagine a Blaser S2 in .338 Weatherby or .300 Jarret fittet with the new Zeiss rifle scope with integrated range finder ! Every Kudu or Elk within 400 yards would be in big trouble with the right guy behind that set. But let me just say here that I prefer getting close to the game so such a modern (and ugly !) gun would never enter my gun safe ! Just my humble opinion. Kalunga Wicked good hunting !!! |
