In my experience, the biggest problem is using just the pad of the finger to pull the trigger. Sure, that's the correct method for a bolt gun. But on a heavy recoiling DR the pad of the trigger finger will slip off the front trigger, causing the finger to strum the rear trigger like a harp string. The solution is to put more finger on the trigger, i.e. break the normal trigger control rule. The rifle doesn't just shove straight back under recoil. A torque is also imparted which causes it to rotate upward and away from the shooter. To say it is impossible for the trigger finger to slip from the front to the rear trigger under recoil is simply to misunderstand the forces involved. It does happen. I have witnessed it, and I have had it happen to me. Curl |
